(1990) Pilcher is an asteroid of the main belt that was discovered on March 9, 1956 by the German astronomer Karl Wilhelm Reinmuth at the Heidelberg-Königstuhl State Observatory at the University of Heidelberg .

The asteroid is named after the American astronomer Frederick Pilcher .
