(2397) Lappajärvi is an asteroid of the main belt , which on 22 February 1938 by the Finnish astronomer Yrjö Väisälä at Turku was discovered.

The name of the asteroid is derived from the lake Lappajärvi in the Finnish municipality of the same name.
