(4495) Kodaihasu is a main belt asteroid discovered by Masaru Arai and Hiroshi Mori at the Yorii Observatory on November 2, 1989 .
The asteroid was named Kodaihasu ("Old Lotus") on the occasion of the germination of 2500 to 3000 year old lotus seeds, which were found in 1971 in Kemigawa .
