(4394) Fritzheide is a main belt asteroid that was discovered on March 2, 1981 during the UK Schmidt-Caltech Asteroid Survey by Schelte John Bus from the Siding Spring Observatory .

The asteroid was named after the German mineralogist Fritz von der Heide (1891–1973).
