(8164) Andreas Doppler is an asteroid of the main belt , the October 16, 1990 at the La Silla Observatory of the European Southern Observatory by EW Elst was discovered.
The asteroid was named in 1999 in honor of the German amateur astronomer and discoverer of minor planets, Andreas Doppler (* 1963).
