(88611) Teharonhiawako is a trans-Neptunian object in the Kuiper Belt with a diameter of around 180 km. It has a companion named Sawiskera ( Mohawk : [zaɰískɛɺa]; official name: (88611) Teharonhiawako I (Sawiskera) ), which is about two thirds the size of Teharonhiawako with a diameter of about 120 km.
Teharonhiawako was discovered on August 20, 2001 as part of the Deep Ecliptic Survey ; Sawiskera was discovered a month later.
The asteroid is named after Teharonhiawako , the god of corn in the Iroquois creation myth , while its companion was named after Teharonhiawako's evil twin brother Sawiskera . The objects were named in 2007.
