-schoss [ -ʃɔs ] is a local ending that can be found on the lower reaches of the Wahnbach , or in the villages around the Wahnbach dam . Other places with the same ending are Mayschoß , Prischoß and Vettelschoß , although it is not necessary to assume a common name formation.

meaning

The spelling in old documents is z. B. 1054 -scozze or 1129 -scoz and has the meaning of protruding, point, corner, angle, peak or mountain ledge (cf. ags. sceát, Latin angulus (angle), pars, portio).
