1001 fortællinger om Danmark ( English 1001 stories of Denmark , German  One Thousand story about Denmark ) is a site provided by the Danish authorities Danish Agency for Culture (since 2016 Slots- og Kulturstyrelsen was) on 5 May 2010 launched. The project, which costs around ten million Danish kroner, provides information about the cultural assets in Denmark and is aimed at domestic and foreign tourists. A similar attempt to record the country's cultural heritage was made in 2006 with the cultural canon initiated by the then Danish Minister of Culture Brian Mikkelsen .

On Denmark's first and largest social website about Danish cultural assets, short stories convey knowledge about significant and unique places, written down by 180 leading history and culture experts and revised by journalists. Comments, further stories and photos can be added to the database of registered users - among them was the then culture minister Per Stig Møller as one of the first . The sites reported on include places such as cities, villages, fishing villages, ports and early settlement sites, structures such as castles, palaces, mansions, churches and mills, traffic structures such as bridges, roads or railways, as well as dolmens , burial mounds , Industrial and military facilities. One of the most unusual cultural assets on the list is the Flyvergrillen snack stand in Kastrup , which is used by aircraft spotters to observe take-offs and landings at Copenhagen-Kastrup Airport .

The stories are in text and audio files in Danish and English available online and for use with smart phones is GPS supported.
