- The 2nd Siberian Army Corps (Lieutenant General Sychevsky ) stood on the left wing between Różan and Ostrolenka .

- On the right wing, the Guard Corps (General of the Cavalry Besobrasow ) and the 4th Cavalry Division covered the Narew section as far as the Osowiec fortress.
In February 1915, the left wing of the 12th Army successfully attacked in support of the 1st Army (under General Alexander Litvinov ) attacked in the Przasnysz area . From July 14, 1915, the successful German Narew offensive made the front unsustainable. After the Great Retreat , Army High Command 12, withdrawn to the east, established itself on the northernmost section of the Eastern Front . The newly formed 12th Army under General Gorbatowski took over the Dune Line between Riga and Friedrichstadt. At the end of August 1915, the 12th Army was under the II., VI. and VII. Siberian Corps with about 8 infantry and 2 cavalry divisions. On the left wing to the southeast, the 5th Army joined between Jakobstadt and Dünaburg .
In the battles on the Aa from January 5 to 11, 1917 (Julian calendar December 23 to 29, 1916), the 12th Army launched an offensive against the positions of the German 8th Army in the area north of Mitau . The fighting was fought in the area of the Tirel marshes south of the Babīte lake, the VI. Siberian Army Corps was in the main battlefield. The intended breakthrough could not be achieved.
