2- (2-Hydroxyphenyl) -2 H -benzotriazoles (also 2-Hydroxyphenylbenzotriazoles or Hydroxyphenylbenzotriazoles ) are an important class of UV absorbers .

They are substituted benzotriazoles with a phenyl group in the 2-position which carries a hydroxyl group in the ortho position .

2- (2-Hydroxyphenyl) -2 H -benzotriazoles are used as light stabilizers in paints and plastics .
