Drometrizol is a flammable , difficult to ignite , white to yellowish odorless solid that is practically insoluble in water.

use

Drometrizol is used in cosmetics as a UV absorber and stabilizer in plastics, polyesters , celluloses , acrylates , dyes, rubber, synthetic and natural fibers, waxes, detergents and adhesives . It is also used in hair and nail care products.

The derivative drometrizoltrisiloxane (CAS number 155633-54-8) is used in sun creams and make-up .
