Drometrizoltrisiloxan ( INCI ) is a lipophilic benzotriazole - derivative described by L'Oreal is marketed under the name Mexoryl XL and in sunscreens is used for the absorption of UV radiation. It is a broadband UV absorber with two absorption peaks, one at 303 nm ( UV-B ) and one at 344 nm (UV-A). Just like Mexoryl SX ( Ecamsul ), it is only used in L'Oréal own-brand products. Drometrizoltrisiloxane and Ecamsul are often used together because they have a synergistic effect in sun protection.

Admission

Dromtriazoletrisiloxane sunscreens are approved in the EU, Canada, Australia, Japan, and other countries, but not in the United States.
