Missing is a song by the German rapper Juju in collaboration with the singer Henning May . It is the fifth single from Juju's first studio album Bling Bling .

The song was created in cooperation between the rapper Juju (bourgeois Judith Wessendorf ) and Henning May (bourgeois Henning Gemke ), the front man and singer of the German rock band AnnenMayKantereit . Juju, a member of the disbanded hip-hop duo SXTN , wrote it after breaking up with her boyfriend, whom she "missed", and then recorded it. Missing was produced by the music producer Krutsch , who had previously worked with SXTN. The song was released on May 3, 2019 under the Jinx Music label as the fifth single from Juju's first studio album Bling Bling . The cover of the single shows the song title and the artist names of the two performers as well as the performers themselves in the form of a double portrait . A related music video was released on YouTube on the same day as the single . Arabella Bartsch directed.

The song deals with thoughts and feelings about or to another person, a relationship partner, primarily the feeling of missing that person. The first verse is rapped by Juju. She describes memories of situations that were lived through together with the other, up to a moment in which a painful crash occurred in connection with the separation. Because of this separation, the other is missed. This is also made clear in the following hook line , initially sung by Juju alone :

"How can you miss someone as badly
as I do at this shitty moment?
I'm so torn right now.
Should I just write to you again or not? "

The last two lines deal with the constant conflict between writing to the other and thus re-establishing contact with him or not doing so. The hookline is repeated once together with Henning May. This is followed by the second stanza adopted by May. What is special about the song is the interaction with Henning May, who takes on “the male counterpart in the song” and “literally casts a spell over you with his grating voice”. In June 2019, Mississippi was awarded the Golden Record by the German Music Industry Association for 200,000 units sold in Germany. The platinum award followed in September, which means that 400,000 units have been sold in Germany.

In December 2019, Vermissen was awarded the 1 Live Krone in the category Best Single . Juju also received the 1 Live Crown in the Best Artist category , and Henning May also received a second crown as part of AnnenMayKantereit in the Best Band category .
