2011 CQ 1 is a near-Earth small body of the solar system .
2011 CQ 1 was discovered on February 4, 2011 by the Catalina Sky Survey . Only 14 hours later it reached its closest point to the earth at only 5480 km above the surface of the earth. The rendezvous with the earth changed the orbit of the object, which is only about one meter in size, by 60 degrees, so that the orbit type of 2011 CQ 1 changed from the Apollo type to the Aten type .
At the time of the flyby, 2011 CQ 1 came closer to Earth without touching the atmosphere than any other natural object observed before.
