The 2S34 , initially called the 2S1M, is a Russian 120mm self-propelled gun that is a profound modification of the 2S1 . In the 2S34 many innovations of the self-propelled guns 2S31 and 2S23 as well as the chain-driven mine clearing "Object 118" have been implemented. The self-propelled gun 2S34 was developed in the city of Perm at the Motowilicha works .
The 2S34 was designed to combat soldiers, artillery and mortar batteries, missile positions, armored targets and command positions up to a distance of 14 km. In 2012, the cost of twelve 2S34 units was 265.8 million rubles.

It is possible to use the precision bullet "3ВОФ112" - Kitolow-2 . Furthermore, the same projectiles of the 2S31 self-propelled gun can be fired, just not the "3ВБК14" projectile with a hollow charge .
