presentation
3-Pyrrolidone can be produced, for example, from the condensation reaction of a tertiary amine with catalytic amounts of sodium ethanolate (NaOEt) and subsequent work - up using sulfuric acid . A substituted 3-pyrrolidone is initially obtained from this reaction , which is first saponified and then decarboxylated in a further reaction using hydrochloric acid (HCl) .
