3. Fuse Division
The 3rd Security Division was a major unit of the German Navy during World War II .
history
The division was set up in mid-February 1941 for security tasks in the area of the French Atlantic coast. The staff of the leader of the outpost boats west was used for this purpose. The headquarters were in the following French locations: Brest , from May 1942 in Le Trez-Hir near Brest, from April 1942 in Nostang near Lorient and from July 1944 in Kernevel near Lorient. Initially, the division was subordinate to the Commander of Security West . On September 12, 1944, the 3rd Security Division in France (as part of the withdrawal of the Wehrmacht from France) was dissolved.
