The division was set up in February 1941 at Boulogne for security tasks in the area of ​​the French Channel coast. The 2nd Security Division was subordinate to the commander of the Security West and was deployed in the English Channel between Dover and the mouth of the Scheldt . It was dissolved in September 1944.
