The 3rd FAI Women's World Hot Air Balloon Championship (German Third FAI hot air balloon - World Cup women ) found in 2018 in the Polish Nałęczów instead.

Third women's world champion was Daria Dudkiewicz-Golawska from Leszno in Poland . The silver and bronze medals went to Agnė Simonavičiūtė from Lithuania and Nicola Scaife from Hunter Valley , Australia . Scaife was already two-time world champion in 2014 and 2016. Simonavičiūtė had won the bronze medal in 2014.

After the world championships in Leszno (Poland, 2014) and Birštonas (Lithuania, 2016) it was the third world championship and the seventh balloon sport event according to the guidelines of the FAI in which women competed for the title of the best hot air balloon pilot in the world and Europe. The competition was held from August 6th to 11th, 2018. 33 balloonists from 14 countries around the world took part. The 2016 World Champion entered the race with the start number “1”. Her teammate Mia Fraser followed with the "2" as Australia led the alphabetical order. One of the possible take-off locations was the Lublin-Radawiec Airport (EPLR) in Radawiec Duży near Lublin . The competition management was with Eugenijus Komas, Lithuania, assisted by Gary Lacey, Australia and Mathijs De Bruijn, Netherlands. August 6th was reserved for the general briefing and the opening event in Nałęczów. Due to the weather, four of the nine planned trips could be carried out on five days of the competition.

Elisabeth Kindermann-Schön from Austria came in fifth. Astrid Carl was the best German in eighth place, ahead of Nicole Vogel from Switzerland in ninth place.

Poland won the team competition just ahead of Lithuania. The two Australians finished third, almost level on points with the Americans. The Germans finished ninth ahead of Japan.
