- 2nd year of reign of the Assyrian and Babylonian king Asarhaddon (679 to 678 BC):
- In the Babylonian calendar , the Babylonian New Year of Nisannu 1 fell on the 14th – 15th centuries. March,; the full moon in Nisannu on the 27.-28. March, the 1st Simanu on the 12th – 13th May and the 1st Tašritu on the 7th-8th October.
- Declaration of the leap month Ululu II , which begins on September 8th.
- Assyrian scribes record the results of their observation of the lunar eclipse of 25/26. May (14th Simanu: May 25-26).
