Lists on the subject |
The cartridge 7.65 × 20 mm is a French pistol cartridge. It was developed in France in 1925 and only produced there.
development
The cartridge was designed as a further development of the Browning cartridge 7.65 × 17 mm for a new army pistol in 1925. However, this pistol was not included in the armament of the French army, so the ammunition was only introduced in 1935 with the self-loading pistol model 1935A as the 7.65 mm longue M 1935 .
use
The ammunition was at its lower limit for military use. In addition to the Petter pistol, it was also used in the MPi MAS 1938 .
After 1945 it was replaced by the 9 × 19 mm cartridge .
