7hours is an exhibition center for contemporary art and contemporary music in Berlin-Mitte .

7hours , founded 1999–2001 to 2004 7hoursTURM in the Märkisches Museum , since 2005 7hours HAUS 19 - in Berlin , is an art and artist space that tries to give independent thinkers space and care. In cooperation with artists or interpreters, accumulations arise that seek to achieve a transcendental quality. Additional study groups since 2010: In 2010 a first group of lay people, self-taught and professionally trained artists have been studying “voice, books and FIRE III” by Jakob Ullmann for two years, and since then further study groups. 7hours is recognized by the support of the Earle Brown Foundation , the British Council , the Freundeskreis 7hours , the Hauptstadtkulturfonds , IASPIS, the Initiative Neue Musik, and the German Music Council . The scope of support from private individuals exceeds that of the institutions.

Exhibitions and concerts

Numerous artists have been represented with exhibitions, concerts and installations since 1999. These include the improvisation musician Cornelius Cardew , the painter Jårg Geismar , the writer Reinhard Jirgl , the performance artist Chris Newman , the painter , graphic artist and sculptor Norbert Prangenberg , Bill Dietz (all media), Pia Maria Martin (video and 16 mm, too Musician), the composers Jakob Ullmann , Howard Skempton, Wolfgang von Schweinitz , Perotin , Klaus Lang , the composer Chiyoko Szlavnics, the sculptor Till Hohn and the painter Albert Wigand .
