plant

Jårg Geismar's works range from painting to room installations, video art and cooperation projects with artists from different fields. For him, all materials and objects can be used to make art out of them.

“New meanings are revealed in everyday objects, from cellophane and carbon paper to keys and mattresses to wire and cord. In a completely extraordinary way we get to know the ordinary anew ... Geismar's work is based on a very down-to-earth "do-it-yourself" aesthetic - an elegant sense of the transience of things, very refreshing in one of money, shiny Splendor and other materialistic clunkers determined the present. .. Geismar's efforts are closely related to those of Jasper John , according to the motto: take an object, change it, change it again, and then make something else out of it.
