Aetios of Amida
Aëtios von Amida (also Aécio , Aëtius Amidenus ; Antiochenus ; * 502 in Amida , Mesopotamia, † 575 ) studied medicine in Alexandria and became court medicus of Justinian I in Constantinople / Byzantium . His writings are based on older medical works by Pedanios Dioskurides and Galenus .
