The Köln-Lövenich S-Bahn stop is a stop of the Cologne S-Bahn in the Lövenich district of Cologne . He is listed as Lövenich in the timetable and in the station directory of DB Station & Service .
It is independent of the Cologne-Lövenich train station to the east , the town's former passenger station , which is now a pure overtaking station without the possibility of changing passengers.
history
Between 1839 and 1841, built Rhenish Railway Company their original route from the station Cologne On Thürmchen the station Aachen Rh, on 2 July 1840, the line for passenger opened up Lövenich.
At the end of the 1990s, the expansion of the railway line for high-speed traffic and S-Bahn traffic began. Lövenich station was closed and its platforms dismantled.
With the new construction of the S-Bahn line from the Köln Hansaring stop to the Düren station , several stops were rebuilt or newly built. The new Lövenich stop was set up about 50 meters west of the former train station at the level of the crossing of Landstrasse 213.

The stop is conveniently located between the two Cologne districts of Lövenich in the north and Weiden in the south. It has a largely covered central platform 96 cm above the top of the rails, which can be reached via stairs and elevators on both sides of Brauweiler Straße.

It is served by two lines of the Cologne S-Bahn: On the one hand by the line S 12 from Horrem via Köln Hbf and Siegburg / Bonn to Au (Sieg) , on the other hand by the line S 13 / S 19 from Düren or Sindorf via Cologne main station and Cologne / Bonn airport to Troisdorf .
Line S 13 / S 19 runs Monday to Friday at the Lövenich stop every 20 minutes, line S 12 only serves it during rush hour , then also every 20 minutes. On the Horrem – Cologne Trimbornstraße section, they together form a 10-minute cycle during rush hour.
