Dattenfeld is a district of the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district in North Rhine-Westphalia .
history
In 895 Dattenfeld was mentioned as Dateleveld and in 1131 as Dattenvelt .
Until the end of the 18th century Dattenfeld belonged to the Duchy of Berg and from 1806 to 1814 to the Grand Duchy of Berg . Due to the treaties concluded at the Congress of Vienna , the Rhineland , including Dattenfeld, became part of the Kingdom of Prussia in 1815 . Dattenfeld became a municipality under the Prussian administration, the mayor Dattenfeld (renamed in 1927 in Office Dattenfeld) in the circle Waldbröl , Region of Cologne was managed. In 1932 the Dattenfeld office with the communities Dattenfeld and Rosbach was assigned to the Siegkreis . In 1955 the office was dissolved and the municipality of Dattenfeld was "free of office". On August 1, 1969, the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district was formed from the municipality of Dattenfeld and the municipalities of Rosbach and Herchen .

In addition to the Catholic Church of St. Laurentius , popularly known as the Siegtaldom with its two towers , the Dattenfeld Castle is worth seeing.

Transport links
Dattenfeld can be reached via Landesstraße 333 and with the S 12 and S 19 of the Cologne S-Bahn as well as occasionally during rush hour with the Rhein-Sieg-Express (RE 9) on the Sieg route . The Dattenfeld stop is in the neighboring village of Wilberhofen .
