The mayor's office Dattenfeld was initially one of five Prussian mayor's offices into which the Waldbröl district, formed in 1816 in the administrative district of Cologne, was administratively divided. In 1822 the mayor's office Dattenfeld came to the then newly formed Rhine Province . The two communities Dattenfeld and Rosbach were under the administration of the mayor's office .

history

On the basis of the Prussian " Law on the Regulation of Various Points of Municipal Constitutional Law " of December 27, 1927, all mayor offices were renamed. The Dattenfeld office was assigned to the Siegkreis in 1932 when the Waldbröl district was dissolved . This office was dissolved in 1955, Dattenfeld and Rosbach became free municipalities. From these, in turn, on August 1, 1969, together with the previously independent municipality of Herchen, the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district was newly formed.
