Wiedenhof is a district of the municipality Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district . Wiedenhof was formerly a parish seat.

location

Wiedenhof is north of the Sieg . Neighboring towns are Geilhausen in the southeast, Imhausen in the northwest and Gansau and Hausen in the north. The place can be reached via the federal highway 256 .

history

Wiedenhof was built across from Geilhausen on the other bank of the Sieg; in old maps from the 19th century, both districts were named Geilhausen.

The village belonged to the parish of Rosbach and at times to the mayor's office Dattenfeld .

In 1830 Ober-Geilhausen was listed with 81 inhabitants, and there was also a Geilhausen farm.

In 1845 the hamlet of Geilhausen had 16 Protestant residents in four houses, while the hamlet of Über-Geilhausen had 84 Protestant residents in 14 houses. Since Ober- and Über-Geilhausen were the much larger district until 1845, contrary to information in the local literature, only these can be meant by today's Geilhausen.

In 1888 there were 37 residents in four houses in Geilhausen-Wiedenhof and 164 residents in 30 houses in Geilhausen.

In 1962 84 people lived in Wiedenhof and in 1976 133 people.

Wiedenhof was the location of a school.
