Rommen is part of the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district .

location

Rommen lies on the slopes of the Bergisches Land . Neighboring towns are Mittel in the east, Gierzhagen in the south and Schönenbach in the north. The place can be reached via the federal highway 256 .

history

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1464 as Ruwenhaen , in which the grove is part of the name, then in 1582 as Rommheim .

The village belonged to the parish of Rosbach and at times to the mayor's office Dattenfeld .

In 1830 Rommen had 67 inhabitants.

In 1845 the hamlet had 67 inhabitants in 13 houses, 59 of them Protestant and eight Catholic. In 1863 there were 64 people. In 1888 there were 60 residents in eleven houses.

In 1962 75 people lived here and in 1976 65 people.
