Dreisel is located on the southern bank of the Sieg, in the Westerwald , more precisely in the Leuscheid . The Dreiseler Umlaufberg shows that this used to be different. Neighboring towns of Dreisel are Dattenfeld in the northwest and the hamlet of Helpenstell in the southeast.

In 1885 Dreisel had 80 houses and 381 inhabitants.
