Mauel is a village in the municipality of Windeck in the Rhein-Sieg district , which is located in the Westerwald .

Mauel lies in a victory loop between Rosbach in the east and Schladern in the west. Mauel is connected to Schladern by a pedestrian bridge over the Sieg and a road bridge over the Sieg shortly before the waterfall.

Economy and Infrastructure

There are two restaurants in the small town, the historic Mauel Castle and the Wilmeroth Inn with its own brewery. In the Siegschleife in the north of the village, separated by the Siegtal route , an industrial area was created in the 1980s.
