Aïchatou Boulama Kané

Aïchatou Boulama Kané (born April 24, 1955 in Keita ) is a Nigerien politician. She was Niger's Foreign Minister from 2015 to 2016 .

Life

Aïchatou Boulama Kané is the daughter of a Targia from Keita and a Kanuri from Chétimari . She is the eldest daughter of a family with 16 children. Kané attended primary school in Maïné-Soroa from 1961 to 1967 . In 1974 she did her baccalaureate at the Lycée Mariama in the capital Niamey . She then studied economics in France : first at the University of Rennes I , where she received her master's degree in 1979 , and then at the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne .

Kané worked, among other things, in the Nigerien Ministry of Economics. In 2006 she took over the management of the Salon International de l'Artisanat pour la Femme in Niamey. The Council of Ministers appointed Kané, who has been a member of the Nigerien Party for Democracy and Socialism since 1991 , as governor of Niamey in 2011 . On February 25, 2015 it was announced that she would succeed the previous incumbent Mohamed Bazoum as Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, African Integration and Nigerien Abroad . In the government of April 11, 2016, she became Minister of Planning. Ibrahim Yacouba succeeded her as foreign minister .

Aïchatou Boulama Kané is married to a Hausa from Tessaoua . You have three children.
