Aït Baha ( Taschelhit ⴰⵢⵜ ⴱⴰⵀⴰ ; sometimes written Ait Baha ) is a small town with about 6,000 inhabitants in the province of Chtouka-Aït Baha in the Moroccan region of Souss-Massa .
Location and climate
Aït Baha is located on the R105 in the western Anti-Atlas Mountains at an altitude of about 565 m in southwest Morocco. The distances to Agadir and Inezgane are about 70 and 60 km. The city of Biougra is about 35 km northwest; to Tafraoute it is about 90 km in a southeast direction. The climate is dry and warm to hot; the sparse rain (approx. 290 mm / year) falls mainly in the winter half-year.
Population development

Residents | 3,638 | 4,767 | 5,668 |
The increase in population is essentially due to the immigration of Berber families from the surrounding mountain regions.
economy
Retail trade and crafts play the most important role in the city's economic life. There is a cement factory about halfway between Biougra and Aït Baha . Many men work in the cities of the north or in France, so the place lives to a large extent on money transfer services.
Attractions
The town, consisting of new, plastered houses painted in different shades of red, has no tourist attractions - apart from the Sunday market - but is well suited for excursions to the Agadirs of the various Berber tribes in the eastern hinterland ( Imi'm Korn , Imchiguegueln , Agadir Guimst , Imhilene and others). The abandoned Berber village of Tioulit , located about 30 km to the southeast, and the Ksar Tizourgane , located on a hilltop, are also definitely worth seeing.
About 3 km southeast of Aït Baha is a reservoir, which was completed in 2004 and supplies the city with drinking water.
