Inezgane (from the Maciric ⵉⵏⵣⴳⴳⴰⵏ Inzeggan , "the cave"; Arabic إنزكان) is the capital and with around 130,000 inhabitants, after Aït Melloul, the second largest city in the province of Inezgane-Aït Melloul in the Moroccan region of Souss-Massa .
location
Inezgane is about 25 m above sea level in a loop of the Oued Souss in the northwestern foothills of the Anti-Atlas Mountains in southwest Morocco. The distance to Agadir and the Atlantic is only about 12 km. The Berber towns of Biougra , Aït Baha and Tafraoute are about 25 and 60 and 150 km to the southeast. The climate in Inezgane is mostly hot and dry; Rain rarely falls.

The rapid increase in population is mainly due to the immigration of Berber families from the surrounding mountain regions of the Anti-Atlas .
economy
Trade, crafts and transport play the most important roles in the city's economic life. Many men live and work in cities in the north or in Europe; H. predominantly in France, so many of the city's residents are highly dependent on money transfer services. Inezgane is the main transport hub in the Agadir area; all main roads and thus almost all traffic are led around Agadir and intersect in Inezgane.
history
Inezgane was the most important market place of the Aksimen Berber tribe . During the French colonial era, the kaid appointed by the French resided here .
