Franz Ferdinand von Gallas

Franz Ferdinand Graf Gallas von Campo (* 1635 , † January 4, 1697 in Prague ) was Duke of Lucera in Apulia, heir of Reichenberg and Horenowes , imperial and royal colonel of a regiment on foot and chamberlain. His parents were Field Marshal Matthias Gallas and his wife Dorothea von Lodron .

biography

On October 2, 1661 he shared with his brother Anton Pankraz (* 1638; † 1699) the dominions of Smiřice (Schmirsitz) and Horenowes. Franz received Smiric and Anton Horenowes. But in 1674 Anton sold it with Friedland Castle to his brother.

Franz Ferdinand was married twice. His first wife, Countess Katharina Barbara von Martinic (1645–1670), was the daughter of Count Maximilian Valentin von Martinic (1612–1677). The couple had two sons and a daughter:

  • Philipp Franz (1666-1731); ⚭ Anna Caroline († August 19, 1712) von Mansfeld- Vorort, daughter of Philipp von Mansfeld
  • Johann Wenzel (* May 23, 1669; † July 25, 1719); I ⚭ April 25, 1700 Countess Maria Anna Francisca Eva von Dietrichstein zu Nikolsburg (* August 10, 1681; † 1704/1705), II ⚭ August 26, 1716 Countess Ernestine von Dietrichstein (* July 13, 1683; † January 30, 1744 )

After the death of Katharina Barbara, Franz Ferdinand married Countess Johanna Emerientia Gaschin von Rosenberg (* 1646, † October 16, 1735). They fathered a daughter:

  • Johanna Beatrice Eleonore (* 1680; † June 12, 1716) ⚭ 1697 Leonhard von Colonna von Fels (* December 3, 1674; † June 6, 1752)

In 1692 he founded the monastery of the Franciscan order in Haindorf . He died on January 4, 1697 in Prague and was the first to be buried in the newly built family crypt in Haindorf .
