Ağaçören (until 1961 Panlı ) is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Aksaray . The county seat accounts for 36 percent of the district's population. The district is located in the north of the province and borders the province of Ankara . In addition to the district town, the district also includes 27 villages ( Köy ), of which only one ( Camİlİ , 1,100) has over 1,000 residents. The average population per village is 196 inhabitants.

Before Aksaray Province was founded in 1989, Ağaçören was part of Şereflikoçhisar County in Ankara Province.
