    history

After the Prussian annexation of the Duchy of Holstein in the German War in 1866, the administration of justice and administration were completely separated there and in the Duchy of Schleswig on September 1, 1867 . In the course of this, a district court in Meldorf was created. The other instances were, in order, the Itzehoe District Court and the Kiel Court of Appeal .

With the entry into force of the German Courts Constitution Act on October 1, 1879, the Meldorf District Court remained in existence. Instead of the dissolved district court of Itzehoe, the district court of Altona acted as the higher-level court.
