The 1938–39 season was the American Hockey Association (AHA) 's 13th regular season . The champions became the St. Louis Flyers .
mode
In the regular season, the six teams played between 50 and 55 games each. The four best-placed teams qualified for the playoffs. These were held in the best-of-five mode. Only the second semi-final was rated according to the goal difference. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
