The 1928-29 season was the American Hockey Association's (AHA) third regular season . The champions became the Tulsa Oilers .

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

In the regular season, the six teams played 40 games each. The top three teams qualified for the playoffs, with the first place in the regular season qualified directly for the final. The playoff semifinals were played in a best-of-five series, the total goal difference was decisive for the final series. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
