The 1927-28 season was the American Hockey Association's (AHA) second regular season . The Minneapolis Millers became champions .

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

In the regular season, the five teams played 40 games each. The top three teams qualified for the playoffs, with the first place in the regular season qualified directly for the final. The playoff semifinals were played in a best-of-five series, the total goal difference was decisive for the final series. Each team received two points for a win, one point for a tie and zero points for a defeat.
