ARRIBA build is software for construction companies that combines the processes of calculation, cost management and project controlling.

history

At the end of the sixties, the company started developing its first AVA system: the IDEAL batch system, designed for mainframe systems . In 1970 the Joint Committee for Electronics in Construction (GAEB) began work on the standard service book , which it was possible to edit with IDEAL.

The IDEALOG dialog system for processing the standard service book, which was developed in 1975, was developed at the same time as the dialog-capable operating systems for mainframe systems, BS2000 and Time-Sharing Option (TSO), which were known at the time .

In the 1980s, the MS-DOS operating system spread , for which the third generation of the software, IDEALOG, was developed.

When Windows began to replace the MS-DOS operating system in the early 1990s, RIB also began developing ARRIBA. A multi-user-capable software solution with an object-oriented program design and an object-oriented database . In 1992, the working group for construction contract accounting (BAR working group), which was made up of the companies Strabag , Bilfinger Berger , Züblin , Heilmann & Littmann , Dyckerhoff & Widmann , Walter Bau and Heidelberg Cement, worked out the requirements for new software that was included in the development from ARRIBA.

Despite the long history of the program, the interface is still not considered to be user-friendly, intuitive and simple.
