The AS Pescina Valle del Giovenco (officially: Associazione Sportiva Pescina Valle del Giovenco) was an Italian football club from Pescina , a city in the Abruzzo region . The club colors were white and green. The club's stadium was the Stadio Dei Marsi in Avezzano , with space for 3,692 spectators.
history
The club was founded in 2005 and took part in regular league operations for the first time in the 2005/06 season. The team got into the Eccellenza Abruzzese in a division of the regional amateur company and was able to qualify for the D series a year later . In the following season, the team placed itself on a promotion place as the winner of the Girone F and was able to celebrate its first promotion to a professional league after only two years. The upward trend of the Abruzzo club continued in the 2007/08 season, when it finished second in the Girone C in the fourth highest division and was thus allowed to participate in the play-offs for promotion to the next higher division.
In two games, however, the team lost to fifth-placed Celano FC Olimpia and thus missed the third rise in a row. In the following year in the league, which has now been renamed Lega Pro Seconda Divisione , the club managed to secure participation in the promotion playoffs again as fourth. After FC Catanzaro was defeated in the semifinals , the success in the finals against Gela Calcio ensured the first promotion for the third highest division, the Lega Pro Prima Divisione .
The AS Pescina Valle del Giovenco took part in the 2009/10 season in the national cup competition, the Coppa Italia , and was eliminated in the first round after a 1-0 defeat by Novara Calcio from the competition. At the end of the season, the club had to file for bankruptcy and disbanded.
