ATOS trio
The ATOS Trio is a German piano trio that was founded in 2003 and has been playing with the same line-up since then.
The name ATOS stands for A nnette - T h O mas - S tefan, the members of the trio. The trio has its center of life in Berlin.
" Three voices, one sound: It is this absolutely perfect unity of phrasing, sound, feeling and interpretation that distinguishes the ATOS Trio from all others." (Detroit FreePress, USA).
The ATOS Trio has established itself as one of the best piano trios to perform in public today. After intensive studies with Ilan Gronich, Menahem Pressler and the Alban Berg Quartet , the trio won the German Music Competition , the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson International Trio Award and the Melbourne Chamber Music Competition. A New Generation Artists Award from the BBC and a Borletto Buitoni Award soon followed.
Since then, the ATOS Trio has played in many renowned halls around the world - in Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Teatro Colon Buenos Aires, the Wigmore Hall in London and the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, to name just a few - with a repertoire containing all the masterpieces of piano trio literature as well as many lesser known treasures.
"... they were Austrians in Haydn, Czechs in Dvórak and Russians in Shostakovich." ( O Estado de Sao Paulo , Brazil) .
With exciting interpretations and unbridled enthusiasm, with absolute commitment and always refreshingly genuine, the ATOS Trio continues to delight its listeners at concerts all over the world.
"... one of the elite piano trios playing before the public today." ( The Washington Post , USA)
