In Spanish Flea , a small fly wakes up in her bed, which, like the rest of her bedroom, is positioned in a flower. During its day trip, the fly harasses a donkey and a chicken before it drives the dance and party party of a hotel to flight. In the evening she goes to sleep contentedly and the flower closes.
In Tijuana Taxi , a taxi driver tries to get a band to the airport in time. On the daring taxi ride, a fake beggar is run over, the pedestrians flee and a dog pretends to be dead. The ride goes through buildings and a bullring and ends at the airport. Although the taxi reached its destination on time, everything finally fails because of the bureaucracy . While the airport employee is still checking the musicians' numerous papers and slowly stamping them, the plane takes off. Without further ado, the band gets back into the taxi, which is now following the plane.

A Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass Double Feature won in 1967 the Oscar in the category " Best Animated Short Film ". After Moonbird (1960) and The Hole (1962), it was the third Oscar in the category that John and Faith Hubley received.
The film also ran in 1967 at the Cannes Film Festival in the competition for the Palme d'Or for best short film, but could not prevail against Sky Over Holland .
