A Step Out of Line is an American television film by Bernard McEveety from 1971 with Peter Falk , Vic Morrow and Peter Lawford in the lead roles than three veterans of the Vietnam War who implement an elaborate bank robbery into action. The detective film was first broadcast by the CBS on February 26, 1971.

Harry Connors urgently needs money to pay for his father's dialysis. He succeeds in convincing his equally troubled veteran friends Joe Rawlins and Chad Harmon to rob a local money exchange office. As a laid-off electronics technician, Rawlins has the skills needed to carry out the robbery. After the robbery is carried out, the loot turns out to be far less than the three expected and Connors suggests that another heist be carried out. However, before they can act again, they are arrested.
