Aaron Schart

Aaron Schart (born December 15, 1957 in Berlin ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

From 1976 to 1982 he studied in Berlin, Munich , Vienna and Tübingen . From 1982 to 1986 he was a full-time research assistant at the Institute for Old Testament Theology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . From 1986 to 1988 he was vicar in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt , city parish. In 1988 he took part in the teaching course of the German Evangelical Institute for Classical Studies in the Holy Land . From 1988 to 1991 he was parish vicar in Marbach am Neckar . After graduation in 1989 Doctor of Divinity (Supervisor: Jörg Jeremias ) in Munich he had from 1991 to 1994 a grant from the Fritz Thyssen Stiftung . From 1992 to 1993 he was a research fellow at Yale University . From 1994 to 1998 he was a research assistant at the chair for Protestant theology at the Philipps University of Marburg . After his habilitation in 1996 for the Old Testament (supervisor: Jörg Jeremias) in Marburg , he taught from 1997 to 1999 as a deputy professor for the Old Testament and the New Testament at the University of Essen . 1998 was a university lecturer at the chair for Protestant theology at the Philipps University of Marburg. In 1999 he was Professor of the Old Testament and New Testament at the University of Essen. In 2002 he was a research fellow at the University of Pretoria . Since 2003 he has taught as a professor for the Old Testament and New Testament at the University of Duisburg - Essen .
