Abbott is a city in Hill County in the US state of Texas , which is about 100 km south of Dallas is located. Abbott has 356 residents, the most famous of whom is the country singer Willie Nelson , who was born in Abbott.
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, the city had 300 residents. The population density was 199.7 people per km ². There were 144 housing units at an average of 95.1 per km ². Abbott's population was 96.0% white , 1.0% black or African American , and 3% said they were of other races . 5.67% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Abbotts residents were distributed across 124 households out of which 29.8% had children under the age of 18. 62.9% of households are married, 6.5% had a female head of the household without a husband and 28.2% did not form families. 27.4% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 16.9% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 2.97.
