Abdoulaye Baldé

Abdoulaye Baldé (born January 16, 1964 in Darsalam , a village in the rural community of Nyassia in the Ziguinchor department , Casamance ) is a Senegalese politician who was a minister several times.

Studies, Police Commissioner and Government Official

Abdoulaye Baldé attended from 1978 to 1984, the Lycée Djignabo in Ziguinchor and started on a degree in Public Law with a focus on International Relations, he he in 1987 with a Bachelor's degree (License en Droit public) graduated. Mayor of Ziguinchor and Minister

In the local elections on March 22, 2009, Baldé also ran for the office of mayor of Ziguinchor and was able to prevail against Robert Sagna , who had held the office for almost 25 years since December 1984. Between 2009 and 2014 he was also President of the Association of Mayors (Association des Maires du Sénégal) and from 2009 to 2014 he was also a member of the Executive Committee of the African Union of Cities and Local Governments and a member of the Executive Office of the Administrations and Authorities of the Local Authorities.

Since December 2014 he has been a remote member of the office of the International Association of Francophone Mayors AIMF (Association Internationale des Maires Francophones) and President of its Commission for Decentralization and Local Democracy.
