Abdoulie Bojang (politician)

Abdoulie Bojang (born February 17, 1960 in Sanajor ) is a politician in the West African state of Gambia .

Life

Professional career

Bojang, son of the farmer Lamin Bojang, grew up in Brikama and went to primary school there, which he attended from 1969 to 1975. He then moved to St. Edwards Technical Secondary School, then from 1980 to 1988 he worked as an assistant teacher. At Yundum College he qualified as a Primary Certified Teacher and then worked as a teacher at various schools in the Greater Banjul Area until his voluntary retirement in 2005 .

After his retirement he worked as a manager in the private sector until 2007. From 2007 he studied management at the Management Development Institute (MDI).

Political life

After the parliamentary elections in 2007 , Bojang was appointed as a further member of parliament, in addition to the elected members, and was elected deputy parliamentary speaker. After Elizabeth Renner was ousted by President Jammeh , Bojang succeeded her in 2010. He was followed by Mariam Jack-Denton after the 2017 general election .

He has been the Gambian ambassador to South Africa since May 2017. He is also accredited in Malawi and six other countries of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
