Abdul Salik Khan is a Pakistani diplomat .

Career

Khan joined the Pakistani Foreign Ministry in 1988 as a desk officer in the Canada and Latin America Division and from 1990 to 1991 in the United Nations Division . From 1991 to 1995 he worked in the representation in Oman . Back at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs he was desk officer and managing director of the South Asia department from 1995 to 1996 and from 1996 to 1997 deputy chief of protocol at the camp office in Quetta . From 1997 to 2000 he worked in the Pakistani embassy in Germany and from 2000 to 2004 in Yemen . In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the posts of Director for the Gulf Region (2004 to 2005) and Director of the Department for China , Japan and Korea (2005 to 2006) followed.

Khan was Minister and Deputy Head of the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing from 2006 to 2010, Pakistan's Consul General in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from 2010 to December 2012, and Director General at the Pakistani Foreign Ministry from January 2013 to January 2015.

From February 2015 to July 2018, Khan was Pakistani Ambassador to Kazakhstan . On July 16, 2018, he became Pakistani Ambassador to Indonesia , East Timor and ASEAN based in Jakarta . Khan handed over his credentials to ASEAN on August 16, 2018 and in East Timor on March 1, 2019.

Others

Khan holds a master's degree in literature and a diploma in national security. He also took part in an Arabic language course at the American University in Cairo .

He is married to Fauzia Durrani Salik and has two daughters and a son.
